But I googled "why my mouth peels after using mouthwash" and this dentist's page was one of the first results. On his page he said it happens because some people have an "allergy" to toothpaste/mouthwash. There was no mention of the SLS ingredient in his response but don't you think it's the SLS that's causing the "allergy" and that it's just an ingredient we should all avoid? Idk.

SLS = poison
It's been known to me for a while that SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) is bad news so we'd been avoiding it in the products we buy. It's almost time to buy a new tube of toothpaste so I went shopping on iherb.com. After reading some reviews, trying to decide between a Now and Auromere brand, both types use SLS in the toothpastes I was checking out which caused some reviewers to complain about their mouths "peeling." I realized after reading one review about SLS that maybe the Listerine I've been using has SLS and that's why my mouth "peels" the morning after I use it! Lo and behold, there is SLS in the mouthwash. We still have 7 of the regular sized Listerine mouthwashes (which we got for free) but won't be using them after today. I'm glad we know why my mouth feels weird after using Listerine.
