I haven't been on here in awhile so I looked through my old posts. One of them was about the Buick Enclave and saying how I wanted to buy it...well turns out I did last January. Bad move. I ended up trading it in for a small ass sedan bc gas mileage was better. Just major FML.
Anyway, I've wanted to start up the blog again so I could look back later and remember all the stuff I've done and how I've changed as time passes.
My neighborhood is getting a makeover. They're going to build a 2 block park down the street and build a new grocery store. It's supposed to be done by the time we leave next year. Only a year and a half left in this city!!!!!!!!
I've started biking again. Work is having this 100 day "wellness challenge" and I signed up to complete 500k steps, do a random fitness-oriented task each week, and lose the most weight. We all weighed ourselves when the challenge began and I was actually less than what I thought. I've already lost .9lbs in 1 week which is weird...anyway, I'm not interested in losing weight but I guess it's nice that it's happening.
It's that time again: hopefully going home soon in June.

Saturday was kind of a long day. We went to a 6 hr class hosted by the organization I volunteer with. What I got out of it was the most effective way to assertively yet humbly discuss vegetarianism/veganism. It was cool to meet other people who were interested in animal advocacy and it's inspiring to see that some people have dedicated so much time and effort to the cause..
Anyway, it's just nice to be around like-minded people and fuels my fire to do more advocacy work in the future.
Last night we saw Wild Party opening for Catfish and the Bottlemen at a small, intimate venue. It was super good! I only knew their most popular song and never listened to anything else but I really enjoyed the show. Wild Party had a cool vibe and were good, too. When the main band came out though, I was surprised at how young they were. It's not often that you see a rock band that's so well known and whose members are, like, 21 years old. Super cool. They sound way better in person, too. I'd totally see them again.
